Ward Does It Again

Stephen Ward continued where he left off for the Republic of Ireland, when he scored the winner tonight for the Under-21 side against Sweden.

Wardy struck in the 77th minute for the only goal of the game against a strong Swedish team at United Park Drogheda. Ward broke clear of the Swedish defence, and the visiting keeper could only parry his shot, allowing the young forward to finish at the second attempt.

Ward's reputation continues to grow after he won the Player-of-the-Tournament award, and finished top scorer as Ireland won the recent Madeira Tournament in Portugal.
