Farcical Decision Robs Bohs
Bohemians 2 Drogheda Utd 2(1)
Match officials; are they cheating us or are they actually that bad? Following on from Alan Kelly's cheating in Bray a few weeks ago, which saw him banned for a month, Anthony Buttimer and his chum decided that they wouldn't be upstaged by a cross-dressing daddy-wanker. For Buttimer and his linesman to award a goal when every other person in the stadium could see that the ball was two feet from the line is deeply suspicious, to say the least. There needs to be a thorough, Garda investigation into the refereeing culture in this league. They couldn't really be THAT bad could they? With betting-rings staking millions on games, it is surely feasible that bribery is rife?
Anyway, Bohs' performance was like a breath of fresh air, going some way to driving away the cloud which Gareth Farrelly drew down on the club. A battling, brave performance saw Bohs fight back to claim a draw, which should have been a win. The young players in particular stood out. The time is right now for a massive clear-out of dead wood such as Arkins, McGuinness, Rice, Byrne, O'Brien and re-build a team around Powell, Collins, Joxer, Ward and the likes. They seem to have some pride in the jersey and passion for the club.
