Men acquire a particular quality by constantly acting a particular way...you become just by performing just actions, temperate by performing temperate actions, brave by performing brave actions.
Loose Ends In summary, some great stuff happening off the pitch, informal groups of members and fans clubbing together to add real value to Bohemian FC. On the pitch, different year, same shite. Actually, worse shite, taking a look at the Directors Box on Friday a couple of the clubs Tsars looked as twitchy as a convict on an electric chair and it didn't take the clairvoyant skills of Derren Brown to work out what they were thinking, "fuck I hope Gareth gets it together quick because we are scared shitless to sack him and in a week or two this place will make Mississippi Burning look like a picnic." The one thing that does gladden my heart is that Gaffer is, by all accounts, an independently wealthy man, (something he can take much comfort in while he is getting the hairdryer treatment from 'Clarence Beekes' and friends) who simply doesn't need the hassle and annoyance of football management. So why has he gone into this craft anyway? I am bemused. If he is really driven by ambition to succeed in the field then it would be reasonable to expect that, by now, we would have heard that he was progressing through the various UEFA coaching licenses required to operate as a manager at any serious level. Maybe Tony Magner can be prevailed upon to tease that one out the next time he does a Gaffer profile. Ok, I can't rule out the possibility that this process might already be in train and Gaffer has chosen to keep it hush hush. The absence of news though would indicate to most people, the absence of developments, and to this person the absence of developments indicates, the absence of commitment. Which brings me full circle, again, to the question of why the gaffer chose such a role for himself.
Tony Magner, destiny calls.
Thanks very much,
